Allan Mathews Fine Woodworking
|
Allan
Secondary vendor |
Allan gained his woodworking knowledge from cabinet making and being a shipwright. He expanded upon this over the years to include all of his current projects. His work evolves and changes as time passes. He enjoys challenges and trying new and different projects, especially when working with different types of wood. Some of his products include nut and exotic wood broaches, a variety of bowls including live edge bowls, and boxes. His signature is a zero clearance drawer box made from a single piece of wood.
He strongly believes that his work should be sustainable and used to give back. Allan is also involved with Makers which allows him to pass on his knowledge of woodworking to those who also enjoy his craft. Allan considers shopping locally the only way to shop if possible. When shopping local, you can support your own community and you're giving back to build up your own community better than it was before. And now with COVID he believes that it has inspired people to explore our local shops further and try even harder to only shop local. Fun Fact: Allan used to be a stable man, he had to feed, water and care for 40 horses! |
